Clark Selected to Build Anaheim Transportation Hub

VENTURA, Calif. – On Tuesday, August 27, 2012 the Anaheim City Council selected Clark Construction Group - California, LP, as the general contractor for the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC). Clark Construction was identified as the lowest responsible bidder among eight construction companies that entered into the bidding process.

ARTIC is a partnership between the City of Anaheim and the Orange County Transportation Authority and is funded with a combination of Measure M funds, the local half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements, as well as state and federal funds. More than 5,000 jobs will be available as a result of the ARTIC project.

ARTIC is designed to be a world-class transportation center where people will move seamlessly between transit services to reach Southern California's activity centers, business districts and beyond.

Clark will construct a 68,000 square-foot steel-framed tubular structure with ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) and glass cladding as part of the terminal building. The civil scope of work includes constructing parking areas for 1,000 vehicles, a railroad bridge, baggage and pedestrian tunnels, two-sided rail station platform, and pedestrian concourse bridge from the terminal to the rail platforms. Additionally, the team will perform infrastructure improvements to local utilities and roadways.

The ARTIC project is designed to earn LEED Platinum certification.

Construction is expected to begin in September.
