Host Hotel & Resorts has awarded Clark a $70 million contract for the New Marriott Hall located in San Diego.

Designed by tvsdesign, the 171,000 square-foot facility is located adjacent to the existing north tower of the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina. The new 72,000 square-foot facility replaced an existing structure to provide a larger, modernized space for conferences and events.

Clark first demolished the existing structures next to the north tower, followed by the existing hall. After demolition, the existing base of the north tower was renovated. Clark then constructed a two-level, steel-framed structure, which was integrated into the existing tower. A mechanical upgrade, including the installation of chillers, cooling towers, and hydronic lines, also was included in the scope of work.

The New Marriott Hall is designed to achieve LEED® Silver certification.

Substantial completion is scheduled for the summer of 2016.
