The 90,000 square-foot building will be comprised of teaching labs and flexible research space to accommodate a range of engineering and science programs.

The building will be located just south of the existing engineering building, which will be connected by a bridge to the new facility. The building will contain a clean room and feature a high-performance mechanical system that will help pressurize lab spaces. The façade will be comprised of stucco and arcades to match the campus’ historic Mission Revival architectural style. The project team also will construct a courtyard for interactive learning and to hold campus events.

The Engineering Interdisciplinary Sciences Building is designed to achieve LEED® certification.

Substantial completion is slated for January 2018.
