Argonne Energy Sciences Building is Dedicated to Critical Problem Solving

Argonne, IL. – A dedication ceremony was held recently for the Argonne Energy Sciences Building (ESB) located in Argonne, Ill. Clark delivered the 160,000 square-foot building three months ahead of schedule and $15 million under budget, allowing the client to use remaining funds to construct additional laboratory space on the Argonne campus.

During the ceremony, the Clark team was recognized for their collaboration with the building's end users to deliver an innovative structure that will help solve the world's energy challenges through scientific research. The ESB is a "think tank," bringing several types of scientists together under one roof to answer critical questions surrounding the development of reliable, safe, and long-lasting battery systems. The scientists also will focus on producing environmentally friendly processes for creating new fuels and solar energy production.

The ESB was designed and constructed to earn LEED Gold certification. The facility uses natural materials and energy efficiency architecture to help Argonne attain the water and energy efficiency targets set by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Illinois Senator Dick Durbin and Representative Bill Foster both spoke during the dedication ceremony, admiring the building for its state-of-the-art systems.
