Clark Employees Participate in National Rebuilding Day Across the Country

Bethesda, MD – A number of Clark project teams recently rallied support for Rebuilding Together's National Rebuilding Day. The annual event, which takes place at the end of April, unites volunteers nationwide to rehabilitate homes and community facilities for low-income, disabled, and elderly residents so that they may continue to live in warmth, safety and independence.

Hundreds of Clark employees from across the nation joined forces to restore, repair, and renovate a number of homes and community centers, including Bridge of Hope, a non-profit organization that helps members of the community by providing transitional housing, furniture, clothing, and food to veterans, elderly, and other individuals in need.

Members from the Highland Hospital Acute Tower Replacement team worked to refresh the Western Service Workers Association facility in Oakland, Calif. The association focuses on helping low-income families with food and legal services, as well as restoring electricity to households that cannot afford their utility bills.

Employees in Clark's Mid-Atlantic Region transformed three Washington, D.C. residences. Volunteers performed such tasks as building a wheelchair ramp, repairing a partially-collapsed roof, and renovating a bathroom to make it ADA compliant for the home's owner who uses a wheelchair.

Clark has a long standing relationship with Rebuilding Together and has been participating in the Rebuilding Day event since its inception.
