Clark Furthers Commitment to Education Through 12th Annual Scholarship Program
July 17, 2014
Bethesda, MD – In July, Clark hosted its field employees and their families for the company's 12th Annual Field Employee Scholarship Banquet. Children of field employees from across the country, including members of Clark's subsidiary companies, Atkinson Construction and Shirley Contracting, were honored with a total of 34 college scholarships.
The evening's event began with remarks from a scholarship recipient who recently graduated from Towson University with a degree in accounting. The graduate was a four-year winner of the Field Employee Scholarship and has earned a position with KPMG as a Certified Public Accountant. He offered advice to the soon-to-be college students about goal setting and planning for success.
At the end of the ceremony, a scholarship was announced in honor of recently-retired employee Margie Rosario, who was instrumental in the development of the Field Employee Scholarship Program. The Margie Rosario Field Employee Scholarship, in the amount of $5,000, is awarded to an individual who aims to be the first in their family to graduate from college.
Since the Field Employee Scholarship Program began in 2002, Clark has granted over $900,000 in scholarships to more than 300 students.
