Clark Participates in Largest Ever DCBIA Community Improvement Day
October 17, 2014
WASHINGTON – Clark employees and subcontractors donated their time to help transform the Dwight A. Mosley Sports Complex in northeast Washington, D.C.
Working in partnership with the District of Columbia Building Association (DCBIA) and hundreds of other local volunteers, the team tackled the extensive rehabilitation project.
Over three times larger than last year’s improvement effort, the project featured the renewal of the recreation fields, and installation of a brand new playground, as well as the construction of an outdoor classroom and additional gathering spaces for students of the adjacent school to utilize before and after hours.
Clark employees performed preliminary tasks in advance of the annual volunteer day including demolishing the existing playground, removing 50 cubic yards of existing mulch and sod, and pouring over 100 footings. Volunteers also dug underground utility pits for water, electric, and irrigation.
On September 27, over 50 Clark employees joined the more than 800 volunteers from the industry to complete the final improvements of the park.
Clark is a long-time partner of the DCBIA and has participated in the Community Improvement Day, rehabilitating parks and recreation centers across Washington, D.C., for a number of years.
