Clark Projects Honored at DBIA Western Pacific Region Awards
June 19, 2014
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Clark projects recently earned four prestigious awards at the Eighth Annual Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Western Pacific Region Awards Banquet in Newport Beach, Calif. The Naval Hospital at Camp Pendleton earned Project of the Year, the Governor George Deukmejian Courthouse received both the Regional Design-Build Award and the Design Excellence Award, while California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF) Stockton took home a Design-Build Merit Award.
A panel of judges representing a cross-section of both the architectural and construction industries evaluated the nominated projects. The Naval Hospital at Camp Pendleton and Governor George Deukmejian Courthouse were honored for their high level of collaboration amongst the project team, which translated into delivering both projects ahead of schedule and under budget. CHCF Stockton, the first-ever design-build delivery for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, was also delivered early – a feat accomplished, in part, by positioning the design and construction teams in a single location.
The DBIA Western Pacific Region Awards program honors projects that demonstrate the successful application of design-build best practices, including early integration of key team members and close coordination between design and construction team members from the design development stage throughout construction.
