San Francisco Mayor Marks Official Opening of Clark's New Office
July 1, 2014
SAN FRANCISCO – Clark recently moved into a new office in the SOMA district of San Francisco. The company has been building in San Francisco, and the surrounding area, for nearly four decades and currently is the Bay Area's fourth largest contractor. Clark's Northern California office previously was located in the East Bay.
To welcome Clark to the city, San Francisco's Mayor Edwin Lee visited the office to help Senior Vice President and General Manager Steve Dell'Orto formally open the office with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
At present the office boasts a $1.5 billion portfolio of ongoing work, including the new facility for San Francisco's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the New Adult Stanford Hospital, Alameda County's Highland Hospital, and the 61-story Salesforce Tower.
To support the current volume of work, the San Francisco office was designed to support collaborative design and construction. Its open-concept space features clustered work areas and collaboration tables to host co-located preconstruction efforts with clients, designers, and engineers. Conference rooms can be reconfigured in multiple ways to host groups of all sizes. To support virtual design and construction efforts, an interactive video overlay allows virtual coordination, BIM models, presentations, and other media to be viewed at an individual, small team, and studio-wide level.
After a tour of the space and an overview of construction already underway in the city, Mayor Lee spoke to the employees about the city's growth and the key role that Clark has in developing the city's future.
